James Levin

Jim Levin is a partner in O’Melveny's Los Angeles office and a member of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice.  He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and other corporate transactions, including advising boards of directors on a wide range of issues.  He is past Co-Chair of O’Melveny's M&A/Private Equity Practice.  In the mergers and acquisitions field, he has represented both public and private companies in acquisitions and dispositions of businesses, including representations of numerous Fortune 500 companies.  He is experienced in tender offers, leveraged buyouts, negotiated acquisitions, antitakeover measures and proxy contests, and has lectured on the indemnification of directors and officers under Delaware and California law.  He has also represented prominent investment banking firms in their role as advisors in acquisitions and contests for control.

Jim has advised issuers in foreign and domestic securities offerings.  Prior to joining the firm, Jim spent a number of months in a health care consulting practice focusing primarily on hospital feasibility studies.
