Gordon Krischer

Of Counsel

Gordon Krischer is of counsel in O’Melveny's Los Angeles office.  He is a member of the Adversarial Department and the former Chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment practice.  He is a trial attorney and counselor who has extensive experience representing management in virtually all fields of labor and personnel law in both the private and public sectors. His litigation practice includes individual and complex class action and multiple plaintiff employment discrimination litigation, ERISA litigation and wrongful discharge litigation including major "whistleblower" and toxic tort cases in both state and federal courts. These litigation matters involve bench trials, jury trials, binding arbitration and mediation. Areas of his practice under the National Labor Relations Act include representation elections, collective bargaining negotiations, arbitrations and unfair labor practice proceedings.

Gordy is also chief negotiator for large employers, having represented a metropolitan transit authority and a large school district in negotiations with numerous bargaining units covering thousands of employees. He also counsels and represents in litigation several motion picture studios and employers of all sizes in the aerospace, computer, telecommunications, utility and retail industries. He acted as lead counsel for a large corporate client in a series of multi-plaintiff toxic tort cases filed by present and former employees, and represented the same client on a significant class action ERISA case before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Gordy also has advised numerous clients with respect to the labor problems associated with the merger, sale, relocation, restructuring and downsizing of business enterprises and universities. He is a frequent lecturer on labor law topics before the academic, business and legal communities.
